The Odee Company is an environmentally friendly printing company located in Dallas, Tx believes in doing their part in helping our world become greener. Besides being FSC & SFI certified in using environmentally friendly paper in their printing process and recycling all materials used to produce printed products we also are investigating reducing our energy consumption and using renewable energy as our energy source. We are carbon neutral based upon purchasing carbon credits through Verus Carbon Neutral that supports reforestation.

As a printing company we use a great deal of energy to manufacture our products. Lighting can be a major part of that. We have always used fluorescent lighting but as each light needs to be replaced we are replacing them with lower wattage lighting that reduces our energy consumption by 25-30%. We look forward to the future of LED lighting to further our energy use reduction by as much as 70-80%. We believe that will be happening in the next 2-3 years to make LED economically viable while giving us the critical-level lighting needed to produce quality work.

We also use a utility provider that provides electricity that is supplied at least to some degree by renewable energy sources such as wind. We are in a contract that runs approximately another year. Our intention at that point is to procure energy that is at least 50% sourced by renewable energy.

While there is not a true definition of what being “Green” is we at The Odee Company believe we are doing everything possible and will continue to help preserve this world for future generations.
